“ You had no intention of leaving my belly any second earlier than you really had to, but after 12 extra days and as September was approaching it had become time to give you a little push in the right direction. August turned into September and after another long day and some very scary moments, they rescued you out of me with an emergency caesarean. And just liked that, somewhere around 23h31, the scariest moment of our lives turned into the most beautiful one as your little voice filled the operation room. We love you to the moon, little one, thank you for having been so strong! ”

We've counted down the seconds to your arrival (22,349,460 to be exact, give or take 60)

On 18 December 2019 we took a pregnancy test and found out that you would be joining our little family some nine months later.
We couldn't wait until the first ultrasound to meet you, so we bought a fetal heart rate monitor and on 7 February 2020 we heard your heart rate for the very first time.

Exactly two months after we found out we were pregnant, we had our first ultrasound scan. They determined that you were 13 weeks and 5 days old and would be born around 20 August 2020. That weekend we announced your existence to the world.

We were very excited to find out your gender and really couldn't wait for the second ultrasound, so on 8 March 2020 we went for an extra scan and found out that you were a girl. We couldn't have been happier!

We've been doing a lot of shopping on top of the many gifts we received from your family, godparents and friends.

As part of our preparations we made sure to be ready to change lots of dirty nappies. Lunik sort of volunteered to be our practice baby.

On 6 August 2020 the final item we needed for your arrival was delivered: the birth pool in which your mummy wanted to give birth at home. We never got to use it because you ended up being born in the hospital, but you might be able to use it as a swimming pool next summer...
